Power, Lighting, and Wiring

Electrical Work for Baton Rouge Homes and Businesses

From one dead outlet to wiring a whole building, you can call the same company.

Precise Design Construction handles electrical work along with building and remodeling. We put in new wiring, upgrade panels, add outlets and switches, hang ceiling fans, and install indoor and outdoor lighting. We also track down problems — the breaker that keeps tripping, or the lights that flicker when the air conditioner kicks on.

Storm season is a big reason people in Baton Rouge call us. A generator keeps the lights and the refrigerator running when the power goes out, and surge protection guards your electronics when lightning is close. If your electrical work is part of a bigger project, our home remodeling service covers the rest, so you deal with one company and get one price.

Something Not Working Right?

Electrical Problems Baton Rouge Owners Call Us About

Most electrical trouble gives a warning first. These are the ones worth a phone call.

  1. Breakers That Keep Tripping

A breaker that trips again and again is telling you the circuit is overloaded or something is wrong.

  2. Flickering or Dimming Lights

Lights that dip when an appliance starts can point to a loose connection or a panel that is too small.

  3. Warm or Dead Outlets and Switches

An outlet that feels warm, looks scorched, or stopped working should be checked before you use it again.

  4. Not Enough Outlets in the Room

Power strips and extension cords everywhere mean the room needs more outlets, and maybe another circuit.

  5. A Dark Yard, Driveway, or Parking Lot

Flood lights and security lighting make it safer to walk outside at night at home or at your business.

Electrical Work in South Louisiana

What Baton Rouge Weather and Older Homes Mean for Your Wiring

Storms, heat, and the age of the house all change what an electrical system needs here.

Generators for Hurricane Season

Storms can knock power out for days. A generator keeps the air, lights, and refrigerator going.

Surge Protection in Lightning Country

South Louisiana gets frequent thunderstorms. Whole-home surge protection helps guard appliances and electronics.

Rewiring Older Baton Rouge Houses

Many older homes still have worn wiring and too few circuits for how families live now.

Panel Upgrades for Summer AC Loads

Air conditioning runs hard for months here. A small or crowded panel struggles to keep up.

Outdoor Outlets and Humidity

Rain and damp air are rough on outdoor power. We use covers and outlets made for wet locations.

EV Chargers and Panel Capacity

A home charger is a big, steady load. We confirm your panel can carry it first.

Reviews From Customers Around Baton Rouge

"I used Precise Design Construction for my investment property. This was only the second property that I have purchased and rehabbed. The first time my experience was not good, but that was due to my contractor. This time around, I used Precise Design Construction, and they were with me step by step in this process. The best part was their communication, professionalism and of quality of work. I highly recommend them and will be using them with my next purchase again."

Electrical Questions

Electrical Services FAQs

Do you do electrical work for businesses as well as homes?

Yes. We handle residential and commercial electrical work. For a home that might be a panel upgrade or new lighting. For a business it might be wiring a build-out, adding outlets and circuits, or putting up security and flood lighting outside.

How do I know if my electrical panel needs an upgrade?

Common signs are breakers that trip often, lights that dim when the air conditioner starts, a panel that feels warm, or no open slots for a new circuit. We look at the panel and what your home runs, then tell you plainly whether an upgrade is needed.

Is small electrical work worth calling you for?

Yes. No job is too big or too small. Swapping a bad outlet, hanging a ceiling fan, or tracking down a dead circuit is a normal call for us. Tell us what's going on and we'll give you a free estimate.

Can you install an EV charger in my garage?

Yes. A home charger usually needs its own circuit run from the panel to the garage or driveway. We check first that your panel has room and capacity for it. If it doesn't, we explain the options and price them before any work starts.

Does electrical work need a permit in Baton Rouge?

Much of it does — new circuits, panel changes, rewiring, and generators usually need a permit and an inspection. Small like-for-like swaps often don't. Rules differ between East Baton Rouge and nearby parishes, so we check what applies at your address.
